1. Note about this manual

English is not my native language. If you find some misspelling and other, do not take into account, thanks.

2. Menus and text boxes

Menus are organized in a hierarchic order with a main menu and sub-menus. Most of menu display the current location as breadcrumb trail, like this:

Main menu > Sub-menu #1 > Sub-menu #2 > Sub-menu #3:

All menus use generic buttons:

< button
This button is only displayed in the sub-menus. It allows you back to the previous menu.

Quit button
This button will exit 'cleanly' menus. Use it instead of the Ignore button.

• Dynamic buttons
Buttons are dynamic when these appear only if needed.

• ✔ symbol in the button labels
This symbol precedes the name of a button when the matching option is enabled.

• 🚫 or ⛔ symbols in the button labels
This symbol precedes the name of a button when this one is not functional.

• Text boxes
Text boxes are used to enter a text or a value. These are identified like this in the manual: Text input. Always click the Submit button to exit the box, even if you have not entered anything.

When access to a specific menu tree is required, the buttons to be clicked are displayed as shown like this in the manual:

Button #1 > Button #2 > Button #2

These are general instructions, as each product has its own specific features.

3. Installation

Locate the KTC Digital clock object in your inventory and rez it in the world. You can now adjust his position, rotation and size like all other object.

When the clock is rezzed, time is displayed with default settings.

Settings are preserved if you unrez and rez again the clock.

4. Configuration

To access to the clock menu, just click on it. Of course, only you have access.

4.1 Set your local time

The Time button allows to set time settings like time zone, 12 or 24h format and Daylight Saving Time.

4.1.1 Time zone

By default, time zone is set for SL time (PST/PDT). Click on Time zone and use GMT -1 or GMT +1 buttons to decrease or increase the GMT time zone for your local time or for another country. It is a negative or positive number between -12 and +13 (Eg: +1 for Paris or -8 for SL time). Press SL time to restore the default value.

If you click the SL time button, note that Daylight Saving Time is also restored according to the PST/PDT time.

4.1.2 DST (Daylight Saving Time)

If your country uses the Daylight Saving Time (DST), click on the DST button. The menu label displays if DST is enabled or not. DST is set for SL time by default (PST or PDT).

4.1.2.1 Summer time

When DST is disabled, you must first select the Sunday when the summer time change (Eg: 2nd Sunday for SL time). Then, select the month when summer time change (Eg: March for SL time). The menu label displays the current Sunday and month.

If you do not use DST, click the Disable button in "Summer" or "Winter" sub-menus.

4.1.2.2 Winter time

Same thing that the summer, select the month and the Sunday when the winter time change (Eg: "1st Sunday of November" for SL time).

4.1.3 12/24h format

The time format is 24h by default. To use 12h format, click the 12h format button in the "Time" sub-menu. Click again to switch to 24h format.

4.2 Change the digits color

There are 8 color presets for digits. The default color is red. To select a color, click on the Color button. In the sub-menu, choose one of following colors: White, Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Cyan or Magenta.

4.3 Bell

The Bell button allows you to ring a bell (440 Hz analog ping) each hour, half hour or quarter hour. It opens a sub-menu with different options:

- Off (By default): No bell
- 1h: Sound is played each hour (Eg: 3 times when three o'clock)
- ½h: Sound is played each hour and each half hour (1 time per half hour)
- ¼h: Sound is played each hour, each half hour and quarter hour (1 time per half/quarter hour)

You can test the bell with the Test button. For each test, the sound is played 5 times (Like five o'clock).

5. Reset the clock to the default parameters

Click the Reset button to reset the clock to default parameters. You will be prompted to confirm this action.

6. Product update

To check if a new version of the product is available:

• If the object KTC Information HUD is in your folder, wear it and click on the icon Update file icon.
• If the object KTC Digital clock - Updater box is in your folder, rez it in the world.

If a new version is available, this one will be sent you automatically. Unpack it like a regular purchase. The items will be copied to your inventory in a folder KTC Digital clock x.xx, where x.xx is the version number.

An update content can be identified by the object name, where the product name is followed by the version number: KTC Digital clock 1.03.

There are two types of updates:

• Automatic: The package contains an object KTC Digital clock - Updater box; The scripts can be updated automatically
• Manual: There is no Updater box in the package; The scripts must be replaced manually

In both cases, follow update instructions available from the top right icon Update file icon on the product user manual. If there are no specific instructions, delete all items of your current product and use the new ones.

Make sure that the object to be updated is not locked when using the Updater box.

8. Support

Like all software, some errors or wrong running may occur. Most malfunctions are caused by incorrect use of the product. If your issue is not reproducible, first, read the chapter about troubleshooting (If existing) before to contact the support. Some malfunctions may be due to Second life, but to a real bug too. If your issue is reproducible, collect all possible informations about your issue like error messages and log and describe step-by-step the operations involved in reproducing the problem. The support will cannot help you if there are no enough details. You can also contact the support just for comments and proposals.
